We Train Here

We are very fortunate to benefit from the Calgary 88 Olympics legacy of excellent training facilities in the Bow Valley Area.  In the winter months, Winsport (formerly Calgary Olympic Park) is our training base for two practices per week where we work on cardio and ski technique.  Winsport has an air rifle biathlon range but it is not rated for 22 cal biathlon rifles. A major renovation and upgrade of this range was done in the fall of 2015.  The Canmore Nordic Centre Biathlon range is where we train the other two practices per week.  Canmore is home to the Canadian National Biathlon team and will host a World Cup biathlon event in February, 2016.  We also train at the Mt Shark Biathlon range.  When there is no snow on the ground we can be found training in various locations around the Bow Valley corridor, including but not limited to the following; Banff National Park, Kananaskis Provincial Park, Bow Valley Provincial Park, Nose Hill and Edworthy Parks in Calgary, U of C Olympic Oval, Bob Niven Training Center at Winsport, and the Spray Lakes Recreation Centre in Cochrane.   Some of the other sports we play as part of our training regimen are:  speed skating, classic nordic skiing, roller skiing, soccer, mountain biking, hiking, running.
